2008 Kidsline Poster Competition By Lyndsey Fowler The Lifeline office was full of beaming 7 to 14 year olds on 5th August. The lounge was transformed into a vibrant gallery of winning entries from Kidsline’s 2008 Poster Competition. Parents, Kidsline buddies and sponsors joined us for the Prize giving ceremony. Isaac Sushames from Tatahi Bay and Lisa Toft from Nelson were the overall winners in their age group. They were flown up to Auckland to receive their prizes. Lisa and Isaac also each received a HP Laptop. Thanks to Kidsline's platinum sponsor ASG Education Programs, all 50 winners and commended entrants received a Nintendo DS game system. Lisa and Isaac will have their artwork used as the design of Kidsline's 2009 posters, displayed throughout New Zealand.

The poster competition is a critical part of the promotion of Kidsline services to children. By actively participating in the competition and designing a poster, thousands of children gain insight into the sorts of issues that Kidsline can help with and the fact that “It Helps to Talk” - “He Pai Ake Te Korero”. “Many willing hands contributed behind the scenes” said Kidsline Manager Richard Taggart. “The Kidsline Buddies were a fantastic help in sorting and judging the thousands of entries received. The Kidsline Poster Competition also depends upon the generous support of its sponsors. ASG (Kidsline’s platinum sponsor) is an independent, not-for-profit Friendly Society that provides specifically designed education fund programs that help meet the costs of children's education. Kidsline also received generous support from New Zealand Couriers who delivered competition packs and entry forms free of charge to 2,600 primary and intermediate schools. Nestle, Adidas, Whitcoulls and artsupplies.co.nz also donated prizes for goody bags and winning schools.
