The volunteers on our community helplines undergo world class counselling training and supervision, providing a caring and professional service to a wide range of people in need.  They deal with many kinds of issues including psychological & emotional distress, financial and work issues, marriage and family problems and with callers who are lonely, ill, depressed or the victims of violence or abuse.

Our community helplines are reliant on sponsorship and philanthropic giving.  If you would like to donate to Lifeline New Zealand to support one of our community services, or if you would like to know more about forming a corporate partnership with Lifeline, please visit our Donations page, or contact us on info@lifeline.org.nz

Kidsline:  it helps to talk.
0800 54 37 54

At Kidsline, we believe it’s always important to talk about how we’re feeling and what’s going on with someone we trust.   Sometimes it feels like there’s no-one around us who will listen, but talking to a Kidsline Buddy gives you the chance to express how you’re feeling and what you’re thinking, in a safe and confidential way.

A dedicated national helpline for kids aged up to 14, at 0800 Kidsline we don't give advice, instead we listen really carefully to what you've got to say, support and encourage you, and help you to come up with the best approach to what's happening for you.  Calls are answered by specially trained teenage telephone counsellors who are professionally supervised and supported by the Kidsline team.

For thousands of New Zealand kids every year - even those who never need to call - Kidsline reminds them that it always helps to talk.   For more information about Kidsline, please visit the Kidsline website at www.kidsline.org.nz

Face 2 Face Counselling:

For more than forty years, Lifeline's Face-To-Face Counselling has provided professional counselling and assistance to those in need.   As a Lifeline client, you can expect to be treated respectfully.  Your counsellor will listen carefully and sensitively and help you to sort out how you would like things to be different.   In the first meeting with your counsellor, you will get to know each other and decide how you might work together to make the changes you choose to make.

Lifeline's Face-To-Face counselling is committed to providing quality counselling and assistance to those in need, irrespective of your financial circumstances.  Lifeline has a scaled system of charges where fees are negotiated with the counsellor depending on what you can afford, however we will never allow money to be a barrier to someone accessing quality counselling so please speak to us about options available.
