Lifeline Honours Exceptional Service

Doug Dempster, current Lifeline Board Member and previously co-chairman 2002-2007, was recently awarded the Lifeline Exceptional Service Award for 2008.

At a special ceremony of Board Members and invited guests, Doug was presented with his award to recognise the exceptional service he has given and continues to give to LifeLine Auckland. Guests at the special ceremony included the Bishop of Auckland, Doug’s wife, his children, brother in law, neighbours and other long standing friends

The honouring function allowed the Lifeline family to say thank you to Doug and his family and to ensure that his children know the depth of our gratitude and the high esteem we hold for their Dad. At the function, Doug’s wife Sally was also honoured, not just for her work as a volunteer telephone counsellor but also as Doug’s wife and partner who has supported Doug in his role as a Board member for more than 10 years.
