Why are we here?
LifeLine aims to reduce personal stress through readily available counselling and provides 24 hour, 7 day a week free telephone counselling; Face-to-Face counselling and other services.
As life becomes more complex, traditional supports may not be available for people in times of need. Lack of transport, illness, family commitments and unfamiliarity with new society can mean that many people are socially isolated.
LifeLine can provide support and makes a huge difference to the thousands of people who use our services each year.
What do we offer?
LifeLine provides professional and confidential services offering help, support and information. We deal with many kinds of personal problems; psychological, emotional, marriage and family and with people who are lonely, ill or depressed.
Our services include Kidsline, Chineseline, Mensline, LifeLine 24/7, Refugee Lifeline and Face-to Face counselling – all of which are manned by volunteers who undergo world class counselling training and who provide a caring and professional service to a wide range of people in need.
In addition we work in collaboration with other community organsiations such as Youthline and the Mental Health Foundation to provide resourcing and helpine services on behalf of government agencies and district health boards.
