Here at LifeLine we are privileged to have more than 250 dedicated volunteers who undergone rigorous training to become LifeLine counsellors. These counsellors help tens of thousands of people each year.
In someone’s darkest moments, a call to our service can be life saving - no matter what the time of day or night our counsellors are there to provide the support and help distressed people need. |

But counselling is just one way you can volunteer at LifeLine……here are a few examples of other ways you can help…… |
Spread the word about LifeLine with colleagues, family and friends! |
|
Volunteer as a ….“Buckateer”
Buckateers volunteer their time to go to pre-arranged Malls and shopping centres and collect donations from passing shoppers – thus raising Lifelines profile in the community together with some much needed funds to support our services.
It is hard work and takes a lot of energy but can be very rewarding - on average each Buckateer will raise more than $200 for Lifeline in just 2 hours of volunteering.
To be successful in this volunteer role, you would need to be prepared to catch the attention of passing shoppers and ask directly for a donation (in the nicest possible way of course!) |

Volunteer as a….“Show Stopper”
To make sure as many people as possible know about the services we offer we attend various shows and events throughout the year– we sometimes need volunteers to help set up and staff stalls. Roles include selling merchandise, handing out brochures and promotional materials, selling raffle tickets etc
To be successful in this volunteer role, you would need to be prepared to be on your feet for several hours, be friendly and approachable and be proactive in interacting with the public. |
|
|
Volunteer as an “Admin Angel”
We have lots of tasks around our office that we need help with – these can range from helping with direct mail appeals, making calls to request donated items for our raffles or volunteer thank-you gifts, undertaking web research to find places we could link our website to etc etc
To be successful in this volunteer role you would need a variety of different experiences depending on the task – but enthusiasm and a can do attitude would be essential! |

|
Volunteer as a…… “Kidsline Poster Pal”
Get stuck in helping process and pack Kidsline poster competition entry forms. The competition takes place between April and June each year and we need lots of spare hands helping with packing and dispatching information and poster entry form packs to 2,600 schools as well as processing the thousands of poster designs that are returned
To be successful in this volunteer role, you would need to be prepared to pitch in and help with a wide variety of tasks and be organised, proactive and a problem solver. |
