  • Legal protection where Lifeline work (that is not unlawful) involves a counsellor in some form of litigation

Lifeline values being there with integrity and compassion in sustainable ways

Telephone counselling volunteers who have succesfully completed the Lifeline training report that they find it enriching and stimulating and learn a lot about themselves and others. Skills learnt can be applied to many aspects of their lives.

In return, Lifeline volunteers are expected to...

 
  • Participate in ongoing training and regular supervision meetings
  • Complete 3 x 3 hour telephone counselling shifts per month
  • Comply with the specific requirements of the service
  • Share responsibility for a warm caring spirit and efficiency in the Lifeline service
  • Accept and follow the Code of Ethics and adhere to the Lifeline Commitment
  • Endeavour to contribute a minimum of two years service
