Bequest, Donate in Memory, Donate in Celebration
A gift in your will to Lifeline is a very special last act of kindness and a lasting gift that serves the community well into the future. Lifeline has been helping New Zealanders for over 50 years, we rely on the generosity of the public to provide our much needed services. With your support, we will be here for the next 50 years and beyond.
If you’d like to discuss leaving a bequest or would like more information, please contact Vivienne Riddell (09) 520 8628 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Enquiries will be treated in confidence.
Preparing your will
If you are ready to write your will or to update your current will, here is some wording to help you. It is important to seek out qualified advice from a solicitor when drawing up your will. Specific Bequest – this could be an amount of money, real estate, jewellery, share or any such other gift you nominate.
“I give and bequeath the amount of $____ to Lifeline Foundation Charitable Trust, located at 95 Great South Road, Greenlane, Auckland.”
Percentage Bequest – this is leaving an agreed percentage of your estate.
“I give and bequeath ___% of the total value of my estate to Lifeline Foundation Charitable Trust, located at 95 Great South Road, Greenlane, Auckland.”
Residue Bequest – after providing for your loved ones, you can confirm that you want to leave part of all of what is left of your estate to Lifeline.
“The residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, wherever situated, I give and bequeath to Lifeline Foundation Charitable Trust located at 95 Great South Road, Greenlane, Auckland.”
Can I change my mind later?
Yes, even if you have made a will you can make changes or additions to it at any time. Your solicitor will be able to advise you.
Give in memory of a loved one
Making a donation in memory is a special way of honouring the life of a loved one while extending a supportive hand to others. Many families find comfort in choosing Lifeline as the beneficiary of donations in lieu of flowers. By creating a personal tribute page, your friends and family can make donations and leave personal messages online. A page takes only a few minutes to build and is a lasting way to commemorate and remember your loved one. All donations made in memory to Lifeline go towards our suicide prevention services.
Give in celebration
Celebrate your next special occasion by setting up a donation registry for your birthday, wedding or next celebration and help Lifeline provide support to those in distress and prevent suicide.
Lifeline can create a personalised donation page, allowing family and friends to donate online and leave a message. You can post photos and/or videos, as well as a special message. Family and friends will be able to donate online, leave a message of support and print out their own tax deductible receipt.
