What makes this contribution especially meaningful is that it represented the combined efforts of Belron teams right across Aotearoa New Zealand. From traditional auctions and sausage sizzles, through to inventive initiatives like selling homemade pickled onions and hosting popular curry-themed shared lunches, teams found fun and practical ways to rally their communities and raise vital funds for Lifeline.
Lifeline has been answering calls from New Zealanders for more than 61 years; and relies on the fundraising of organisations such as Belron and its nationwide teams to keep going.
Lifeline GM Fundraising and Social Enterprise Lisa Rudolphe said the impact of these grassroots efforts is significant.
“Every dollar raised by the Belron team represents time, creativity and genuine care for others. These funds translate directly into answered calls from people facing some of the toughest moments of their lives. The teams should feel incredibly proud of what they have achieved together.
“This year’s donation will help Lifeline’s trained counsellors respond to approximately 1,571 calls from people needing support, connection and hope.”
Belron New Zealand Managing Director, Michelle van Gaalen said the donation reflected their team's commitment to supporting the communities they live and work in.
“Our teams embraced this with real passion and imagination. Whether it was an auction, a barbecue or a shared lunch, everyone found a way to contribute. It is inspiring to see our people across New Zealand unite behind a cause that makes such a tangible difference.”
Lisa extended Lifeline’s sincere thanks to everyone involved, especially to the dedicated Belron team members who drove these efforts.
“Their collective energy and generosity are helping ensure that when New Zealanders reach out in crisis, someone is there to answer.”
